The ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ chords make for a very cool progression to play on the guitar. This is one of those guitar songs that has quite a melancholy / minor tone to it, which I personally find quite expressive and great for soloing in.
Anyways, in this video lesson, my friend Colin is going to teach you the ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ chords. The song is in A minor, though it goes to A major during the chorus.
You’ll learn a few different ways to approach the song, depending on your skill level. Probably the hardest is to finger pick it all, but that also sounds best. If you’re not up to speed on the finger picking though, Colin has a few tricks to help you still play the song so it sounds good.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps has been done by quite a few artists over the years, most recently by Santana. Jeff Healey did a great version of the song, and of course there’s the original by George Harrison & Eric Clapton.
The guitar chords in this song use a lot of bar chords, so if you need a touch up on those, you can check out my lesson on bar chords.

I’m afraid that I lost interest due to the amount of chat before any playing took place. I kept wishing that he would GET ON WITH IT! Stop talking!
I agree with you 100%.
talkn helps me to catch on-cool lesson-thank you
Interesting lesson but, far to advanced for me. I was having troubles seeing your finger positions and as you explained what you were doing, your voice was drowned out buy your guitar playing. Again the lesson may have been more enjoyable to me if I was further advanced in my playing skills. Thanks you for what you do.
