The Art Of Jazz Guitar

Art Herttua has been playing guitar for over thirty years. He initially studied classical guitar but found his passion in jazz after hearing Harry Leahey. While living in New Jersey, Art studied with Harry Leahey, a Grammy award-winning jazz guitarist.

After Leahey’s death, Art continued his studies with Bob Devos, another former student of Leahey’s. Both Leahey and Devos had studied with Dennis Sandole, who taught jazz musicians like John Coltrane and Jim Hall. Art’s love of the mountains brought him to Vermont, where he has been living– and playing guitar– since 1994.

Art’s music includes both well-known jazz standards and his own original pieces. He has performed at local places like Healthy Living and Radio Bean.
