Sunflower Guitar Lessons

Sunflower Guitar Lessons is run by Shu Odamura, an experienced music teacher and active performer based in Flushing. He provides one-on-one lessons for students of all levels, starting at age six. Lessons are available at the student’s home in the metro area, his studio in Queens, rehearsal spaces in Midtown, or online for students anywhere in the world.

Individualized instruction focuses on the specific needs of each student. Beginners learn the basics, such as how to tune, hold the guitar, and read music. Intermediate and advanced players can study topics like music theory, improvisation, jazz techniques, and how to play in different musical styles.

Flexible options are available to help students achieve their goals. The lessons cover preparation for school auditions and music exams. To showcase their progress, students are invited to participate in a concert held every year in November.
