  Just had a really bad experience with this person. I explained my needs in emails before going - So here is my list of grievances without any exaggeration. Firstly I was told finding his house and parking was easy - it wasn't! he said he'd look out for me as I get lost easily in unfamiliar surroundings. He was not looking out for me as I drove up and down his road twice before finding his address and was then told to park on the pavement outside as his next student needed to park off road in his drive! Then I was ushered in straight to his small music room without any pleasantries at all - like how are you? Would you like a glass of water? etc. and was told to get my guitar out immediately, I was only a few minutes late. Most if not all Tutors offer a free 30 min 'get to know you' introduction, to find out more about my learning goals, but not here.. I soon realised I was just a number on his list and no chit chat was required? I told him I am Neurodiverse so my guitar goals were limited to playing by ear only, to which he replied 'It's not possible to be a good guitarist learning that way alone' ...! Which I knew was simply untrue, and at that point I realised he had no intention of altering his teaching format for me at all. I was hoping he would let me show him the kind of music I was practicing with on Youtube, so he'd have seen exactly what style I wanted to learn and play, but that would have taken a few minutes on his PC which I could see was not going to happen. He plugged his guitar into his PC with his favourite effects etc and I was plugged straight into an unknown amp with no effects Reverb or anything so that my guitar did not even sound remotely like my guitar! he didn't even make a single comment on my beautiful guitar which was ltd edition and not your usual beginners instrument - a few minutes chit chat about it would have put me at ease and helped me play in front of him. I told him I only play by ear and he said 'play over this then' and gave me a chord progression that was completely random and unmusical!? to prove his point I guess? to humiliate me, which it did. He then told me I needed to learn D major chords and other things that were not applicable to me, as I'm 69 never going to play with others and only wanted to improvise over backing tracks, all of which I told him in my emails beforehand. So my hour was up and £52 completely wasted plus nearly 3 hours of stressful driving. It thankfully ended when his next student arrived and I was ushered out without even a goodbye!!!! This man may well be an amazing guitar player but he is a terrible human being. I will never go to another guitar tutor if I live to a hundred, it was a really humiliating experience...
