Mario Otero is a guitarist and songwriter from New Mexico and Texas. He is known as one of the best steel string acoustic guitarists. His live performances are exciting, and he plays with skill.
He was part of the group La Vienta, along with flamenco guitarist Stefan Schyga. La Vienta was nominated for a Grammy in 1994 and reached #17 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Charts. La Vienta has played in many locations and always got standing ovations.
As a soloist, Mario Otero has played at the “3rd Annual World On A String Guitar Festival” with other guitarists such as Sergio and Odair Assad, David Russell, and Rafael Jimenez. He played to an audience that was sold out.
