About

Mike Magee is a guitar instructor in the Salem-Keizer area of Oregon. He has been teaching guitar for over 25 years. Mike’s teaching focuses on the principles of music, which he believes apply to all musicians, regardless of their instrument.

Mike’s lessons, called “Creative Guitar Lessons,” aim to extract the principles of music so they can be applied in various ways. He doesn’t focus on rote memorization of songs but teaches students to hear patterns in music. The goal is for students to confidently learn new music and compose their own.

Mike has developed his own instruction materials, Magee’s Creative Guitar Series. He strives to make learning enjoyable and easy, so students can see their progress and feel their capabilities growing.
