About

Julie Harris Music Lessons is a certified instructor based in Pittsburgh with over 35 years of teaching and performance experience. She holds a B.F.A. in Music Performance from Carnegie-Mellon University and a B.M. Ed. from Duquesne University. Along with her K-12 teaching certification, she has served as the Instrumental Music Director at Community Day School since 1999.

Lessons are offered in her Squirrel Hill home at a rate of 30 dollars per half hour. She works with students ranging from age seven to adult, offering instruction for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels on guitar and bass guitar. She also provides coaching in music theory, ear training, and solfege to help students achieve their goals and prepare for auditions.

Her students have enjoyed success in many areas, including becoming band leaders, songwriters, and teachers. She has helped many individuals gain acceptance into Pittsburgh CAPA and various music colleges. Her main goals are to foster a love for music, teach students how to play their favorite songs, and ensure they develop the skills for a lifetime of musical enjoyment.
