Adam Smale is a guitarist and composer based in the Kensington area of Brooklyn, New York. He started his musical journey at the age of seven and has been teaching for 27 years, alongside his performing experience of 38 years.

Adam’s teaching philosophy centers around creating a plan based on each student’s individual goals and maintaining open communication. He avoids a “cookie-cutter approach,” tailoring lessons to suit their needs, interests, and objectives. He is an expert in both fingerstyle and flatpicking techniques, teaching better fretboard knowledge, chords, scales, improvisation, comping, theory, and sight reading.

He offers lessons in various styles, with a specialty in Jazz. He teaches both acoustic and electric guitar to advanced students, folk, rock, or country guitarists, and those wanting to immerse themselves in theory and jazz-swing. Adam also offers Zoom lessons for students anywhere in the world.
