Greg Michael Guitar Studio

About

Greg Michael Guitar Studio offers private guitar lessons in Epsom, Surrey, for children from age six and adults of all ages, from complete beginners to advanced players. Greg has been playing guitar for 30 years and teaching for 20, and specialises in acoustic fingerstyle and classical guitar, while also teaching blues, rock and electric guitar.

Greg started out in rock and blues, playing electric guitar full time for 20 years, before moving to acoustic fingerstyle and then classical guitar. He studied Delta blues with American guitarist Toby Walker, jazz fusion with Greg Howe and classical guitar with Polish composer Tatiana Stachak, and currently studies with Tomasz Radziszewski. He is a member of the Wimbledon Classical Guitar Society (WiGS) Teachers Panel and records the society’s concerts.

Lessons are tailored to each student, whether that means learning favourite songs, building solid technique, mastering fingerstyle arrangements or working through classical repertoire. Students preparing for graded exams can follow the Trinity College London, ABRSM, London College of Music and Rockschool syllabuses.

Greg holds an Enhanced DBS certificate and public liability insurance. Parents are asked to sit in on lessons with young children. Lessons take place at his Epsom studio or online via Zoom or FaceTime, and a discounted introductory lesson is available for new students. Students come from Epsom, Ewell, Stoneleigh, Cheam, Worcester Park, Sutton, Ashtead, Leatherhead, Banstead and across Surrey and South West London.
