Dr. Daniel Ramjattan is an active international concert soloist and chamber musician, recording artist, expert in music performance anxiety, and award-winning guitar instructor based in Toronto, having premiered and recorded dozens of chamber and solo works for guitar in concerts and studio recordings. He has given recitals in Austria, Italy, Germany, the United States, Trinidad and
Tobago, Japan, and across Canada.

CBC Radio, WholeNote and Musicurate Magazine, and podcasts like “Conversations with Musicians” have featured his debut studio album, “Inspirations: New Works for Solo Guitar,” which streams on all major platforms. He has recorded for Siccas Guitars, the most popular classical guitar platform on Youtube, and regularly releases recordings on his own channel.

Daniel became the head of classical guitar at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2020 and joined the Faculty at the RCM’s Oscar Peterson School in 2024. His students have received top awards at the OMFA provincial guitar competition from the Grade 2 to the Open level category and have received the RCM Gold medal for having the highest marks in Ontario. His past students have gone on to win international competitions upon graduation.

CBC’s the National and dozens of major universities and arts organizations across Canada, the U.S., and the West Indies have invited him as a guest speaker on music performance anxiety, the
topic of his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Toronto. He regularly gives masterclasses and adjudicates in festivals across Canada at the national and local level. His past
mentors include Jorge Caballero, Jeffrey McFadden, Patrick Roux, and Bruce Holzman.
