Dave Barton, a Kingston-based guitarist, brings a unique breadth of experience to his teaching. A jazz guitarist, arranger, and composer, he also holds a classical guitar background from Queen's University, where he also delved into composition and education. This dual fluency allows him to adeptly guide students toward university auditions in both jazz and classical disciplines.
His 22 years as a high school band and guitar teacher, coupled with roles as a guidance counselor and special education teacher, speak to a deep understanding of pedagogical approaches and diverse learning styles. Barton's instruction encompasses jazz, classical, and pop, catering to students from beginner through advanced levels. His private lessons offer a focused environment for aspiring musicians to refine their craft and pursue their musical aspirations.
