I’m a guitarist and teacher with more than 40 years of experience as a musician and over 10 years of private teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music, where I studied performance and arranging.

I teach kids, teens, and adults, from complete beginners to advanced players. Lessons are personalized around your musical interests, goals, and experience level, with an emphasis on playing music you genuinely enjoy while developing strong fundamentals.

Depending on your goals, lessons can include songs, technique, improvisation, music theory, ear training, sight reading, and both TAB and standard notation. I teach a variety of styles including rock, blues, hard rock, funk, R&B, jazz, acoustic, and more.

I offer private guitar lessons at my studio in Evanston, Illinois, as well as online lessons. Beginners are absolutely welcome.

Students can work on the songs and music they enjoy while building the technique, musicianship, and understanding they need to become better guitar players. I also create customized practice materials and backing tracks when helpful. I can also help students find a practice routine that works for them.
