About

Gert Dog Studios is located in Portland and run by Jake, an experienced musician who left the legal field to follow his passion. He has played music since childhood and furthered his education through courses at the Community College of Denver and the Berklee Online master’s program. Today, he shares his knowledge as an adjunct faculty member at Oregon State University and an instructor at Portland Community College.

Instruction focuses on a balanced approach that promotes taking music seriously while staying encouraging and having fun. Jake believes in helping students find their inner musician so they can finally follow their creative dreams. He works with students to build their skills in a professional yet welcoming environment.

The studio offers private music lessons for guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, drums, clarinet, songwriting, and music production. In addition to teaching, the business provides professional services for producing, mixing, and mastering original music.
