About

Family Joy of Music is a music school located in Corpus Christi that serves children and adults. The founder and teacher, Guzyal Conklin, has over twenty years of experience teaching piano. She holds a BA in piano performance from Stony Brook University and studied at the Juilliard School of Music. Mrs. Conklin is also a certified teacher for the Harmony Road and MusikGarten programs.

These classes focus on a fun and creative approach to learning. Lessons include piano, music games for ear training, movement, rhythmic activities, and singing. The school offers private lessons for piano and preschool music, as well as group sessions like The Music in Me and The Harmony Road. Each program is designed to be age appropriate and tailored to the specific needs of every student.

Students gain more than just musical ability through this positive environment. The curriculum helps build confidence, discipline, and social skills while bringing families together. Participants have the opportunity to showcase their talents during an annual piano recital and a holiday concert. Families are encouraged to join in the learning process both during classes and at home.
