Joy of Music School

About

Joy of Music School is a non-profit located in Knoxville that helps underserved children and teens. They provide free music lessons and instruments to students who have a desire to learn but lack the means. The organization relies on a large team of over one hundred volunteer teachers to help students succeed.

Students can choose between group classes or private one-on-one lessons. Group classes offer a collaborative space to learn music theory and ensemble playing. Private lessons allow for personalized instruction that fits the specific goals and skill level of each player. These lessons help students master their instruments and find their own unique voice as musicians.

Instruction takes place at their building on Euclid Avenue and at various sites across East Tennessee through a community outreach program. This outreach program partners with local schools and organizations to make music education accessible to everyone. The school welcomes students of all skill levels to apply for their programs online.
