For the true student of the guitar, simply watching a playing better than themselves can be an educational experience. In this section I’ll be posting some of the truly amazing guitar work I’ve come across online, preferably focusing on videos that have a fair amount of closeup shots, so you at least have a shot at figuring out what the heck is going on!
Pretty much any genre is fair game here, because I’ve seen classical players using metal licks and metal players using classical licks. The greatest guitarists are always widening their perspective by studying techniques way outside of their own specialty, and I think we should do the same.
In addition, you’ll also find some write-ups on some of the greatest guitarists in this section – players that were very influential deserve some form of credit for their contributions to the art!
If nothing else, I hope that by watching some of these great guitar players in action you’re motivated to go grab your guitar and practice a bit more yourself!
